Peter Colbert
Peter Colbert is a Toronto artist known for his interpretive landscapes which run into the abstract, as well as his figurative paintings. His paintings can be found in collections spanning North America, with representation from many galleries across Canada. Educated at Humber College and the Ontario College of Art, where he was awarded a scholarship in 1982, Peter spent more than 20 years toiling in commercial art, where he spent more than 20 years as a designer and illustrator in both Toronto and Vancouver, where he won several Lotus Awards. Now a full-time fine artist, Peter won the “Prix Arts Visuels” at the Festival International Montréal, en Arts in 2007 and has appeared on local television giving demonstrations of his unique painting style. Working and to a degree focusing on a unique colour palette, Peter is most excited by creating unique, dynamic imagery when he's at work in his studio. He believes that in art as in life, working without passion is a waste of time.
