Tom Tobin

As a teenager, Tom Tobin studied image-making under two mentors, internationally-acclaimed painters Gerald Pedros and Ron Kingswood. He then studied photography at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario and went on to receive an honours diploma in film studies at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario in 1996.

Although Tom’s work has been influenced by surrealist cinema, his lifetime fascination with pattern in nature has prevailed in his photography. He chooses to work with conventional photographic film over digital, as printing his own images continues to be part of the process that he loves.
