Rick Filler

Rick Filler was born in Montreal in 1951. He now lives and works in Ottawa. His career in photography began immediately after graduating from Concordia University in 1972.  He and his brother began a commercial photographic studio in Montreal serving customers such as Gulf Oil, Sun Oil, RCA and Capitol Records. After 8 years they decided to take a different direction, and opened a gallery devoted exclusively to prints and graphics, which kept them involved in fine art for over 10 years. A gardener for over 45 years, and a former trail guide to some of Canada's most remote regions, he now incorporates both of these interests into his fine art photography.In 1980 his work was chosen for a book “The Art of Nature Photography” which featured Canada’s top nature and landscape photographers.
