Ca
nvas Gallery is a vibrant visual arts venue with a constantly changing inventory of about 1,200 original works by more than 120 established and emerging Canadian artists.

Opened in late October of 2003 by husband and wife Mark Hunter & Megan Less, the gallery was their answer to what they felt was a need for accessible original art in the Toronto area.

Canvas is now known as the alternative to the traditional gallery. We offer an impressive selection and variety of original pieces to first-time buyers and seasoned collectors alike. Paintings, photography, encaustic & mixed media pieces as well as works on paper are presented in a casual non-intimidating atmosphere where customers are encouraged to flip through the work at their own pace. Of course our friendly staff is always there to help too. All works are available to be taken on approval to try at home before purchasing.

The gallery also works closely with interior designers and decorators and often supplies artwork for television shows such as Design Inc. & Sarah’s House (with Sarah Richardson), Divine Design (with Candice Olson) and magazines Canadian House & Home and Style at Home, among others.

Mark & Megan’s successful film production careers (set decorating and props) before opening the gallery has influenced the Canvas’s involvement in placing artwork in hundreds of feature films and television shows as well
.

As of mid-November 2008 Canvas Gallery has a second location, located within Elgin Picture & Frame at 665 Dupont St (corner of Christie). The beautiful new space features primarily photography and works on paper but some mixed media and works on canvas are on display at this location as well.
